I have a guitar that I plan to refinish soon, and am wondering what would be the best way to remove the EM6000. In the past, I've always just sanded to remove finish, but if there's an easier way to remove the bulk of the finish, I'd certainly like to try.

Can lacquer thinner be used on water-based finishes, once they've dried?

I had to do this on a very blue EM7000 instrument and also found that a commercial stripper worked great.

if you are going down to the wood , orbital sander with a vaccum attached , use aggressive grits to start....100, 150 work up to 220...

Citristrip is quick and easy. Having had to strip a finish or two before, that's what I've used.

I use stripper.

Sorry, but we just had to refinish a piece of furniture, and the stripper jokes were flying left and right at the house
